Dave's Killer Bread
“Located in Milwaukie, Dave’s Killer Bread is dedicated to baking the highest quality, best tasting organic bread possible,” according to the company’s public relations department.
Each loaf is packed with whole grains, seeds, and/or nuts amounting to a bread that is both healthy and delicious. Dave’s currently offers 12 varieties that are sold in stores in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Northern California, Utah and Alaska. The breads contain no animal products, artificial preservatives, or genetically modified organisms.
“As for why we went kosher, our facility had pretty much been de-facto kosher with regard to our methods of running allergens separately on separate production lines,” said Dan Letchinger, of Dave’s PR department. “Over the years, we have received a number of requests for our products to be certified k osher, and since we were already halfway there, it was more of a question of ‘why not?’.”
For the next few months, the bread will not have a hechsher on it. On the tie that closes the bread bag there is a date code. If the code begins with a “k”, the bread is Oregon Kosher certified. All breads sold under the Dave’s Killer name except for Sin Dawg are kosher certified.
